Friendly Advice to a Younger Me

Just a couple things I wish I would of known…

Dear 20 Year Old Self,

  1. Quit thinking that you can plan your life, it’s a waste of your time
  2. Being prettier, thinner, richer, taller, and better dressed will not increase your chances of finding a husband. If he’s the right one, he will love you for exactly who you are at each and every moment.
  3. Wear more sunscreen. Face and tops of hands, all day, everyday.
  4. Don’t get zealous with tweezers, eyebrows have a weird way of growing slower and slower as you get older
  5. Invest in Laser Hair Removal…game changer. The sooner, the better.
  6. Enjoy your age each year, stop looking at the next milestone
  7. Drink less liquor, start to enjoy the wonderful world of wine
  8. Don’t forget about God when the times are good. Gratitude is POWERFUL
  9. Organize your photos, keep them forever
  10. Don’t drink out of plastic bottle, don’t eat out of plastic Tupperware
  11. Take the GMAT, GRE, LSAT directly after you graduate and the knowledge is still fresh
  12. Spend money on travel, not on clothes
  13. Chill out on the monogrammed stuff, you never know when your last name will change.
  14. Listen to your Father about the dangers of aspartame
  15. Start running.
  16. Laugh at yourself, it makes you more likable
  17. Take time to write and reflect about big events in your life.
  18. Be your biggest fan, not your worst critic
  19. Always take the extra car insurance when renting a car
  20. Being right is overrated
Just for an added bonus…Here is a photo of a 20 year old me. My now husband and I had been dating for a couple months….
